Thousands participate in Louisiana Lemonade Day

Synergy Bank is proud to be a sponsor of Lemonade Day, where more than 13,000 kids in Louisiana participated on May 4. Lemonade Day is a national effort to encourage and support young entrepreneurs. Through a lemonade stand, children and teens can learn the basics of owning their own business, including important lessons like finding an investor, budgeting their money, marketing their business, and how to responsibly spend their profit.

We had plenty of savvy lemonade stand owners here in our own neighborhoods. In the pictures above, Synergy Bank mascot Penny D. Pelican encouraged kids to make their own fun lemonade at Pirates Day, while Megan Quick displays her creative lemonade stand. In the bottom pictures, third graders at St. Matthew’s Episcopal School treated their classmates and visitors to delicious lemonade and Micah Quick shows off his football themed lemonade stand.

Lemonade Day is a free and fun learning program that teaches youth how to start, own, and operate their own business – a lemonade stand. The main objective is to empower a younger generation to learn how to become productive members of society as our future business leaders, social advocates, volunteers, and progressive citizens of tomorrow.

Once registered, you will receive a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook that includes the 14 lessons of Lemonade Day, including creating a budget, setting goals, serving customers, and problem solving. The kids keep all the money they make and are encouraged to spend some, save some, and share some. It also includes a Caring Adult Guide to help you guide your child through the process.

Lemonade Day is a great way to encourage your kids to be creative while teaching valuable, kid-friendly financial and economic lessons. Please contact us at marketing@banksynergy.com if you need help registering or if you have any questions about Lemonade Day.
